危うく振り込め詐欺に会うところだった、おバカなあたし

お天気が今一つだった夏休みの１週間。明けても曇り空。なんだか梅雨が継続しているような？あるいは秋雨前線に突入か。

先週の金曜日のことです。

妻の実家に行ったついでに木更津の三井のアウトレットに寄りました。買い物にお付き合いするのが苦手な自分は、そこでは、本やらパソコンを持ち込み、タリーズの端に陣取って、しっかりと自分の時間を過ごすことが家族ともどもに幸せな時間の過ごし方となっています。

夕方７時頃、そろそろ読書にも飽きたのでCACHATTOでメールを確認しました。すると、URGENT PLEASEと書いたメールが、友人名で、さらに実際のメールアドレスで書かれてきています。

普通なら見過ごすのですが、なぜだか別なメーリングリストにも届いていて、内容からして、なんだか助けて上げなくてはいけないような気持になるようなものでした。その日の朝７時頃のメールです。

I'm at a local library trying to get help back home don't have access to phone since the muggers went away with my phone and the hotel management stop me from making use of the hotel facility because of my out standing bill.  The hotel management has put a stop to my order,i have not taking anything since last night.Quite honestly it was beyond a dreadful experience for me but looking on the bright side we weren't seriously hurt or injured and we are still alive so that is whats important.

I've reported to the cops here and canceled all my cards,it appeared I had acted quickly enough or they almost would have succeeded in cleaning out my bank account. I'm really having some difficulties clearing my hotel bills and also need to pick up a voucher ticket at the counter for us to catch a flight back home in a couple of hours.

そこまでやり取りをしたところで、買い物を終えた妻子が現れ、フードコートにに向かいました。いきさつの話をすると「怪しい！詐欺だよ」との二つ返事。自分が返事したこと自体が「あり得ない！」とバカにされます。

でも、彼の英語の堪能さや、本当に自分がそういう状態になったらどうするだろうか、との想像力から可能性がゼロでないので、万が一のことを心配している旨を伝えます。

すると、娘がすかさずiPhoneで調べて言います。

「[フィリピンで強盗][友人][詐欺]で検索してきたらすぐに出て来たよ。ウエスタンユニオンに振り込めっていう振り込め詐欺でしょ？フィリピンの大使館や銀行のサイトにも警告が出ているよ」と。

あらま、恥ずかしい。

ひとまずほっとするとともに、騙されやすい自分の体質を思い出したのでした。そして、本人に電話をしてみます。すぐさま本人が出ます。

「あ、Ｓです。あ、坂本史郎さん？お久しぶりです」

そこで詐欺メールについて心配していた件を話すと、明るく、「大丈夫ですよ！ご心配おかけしてすみません。facebookにも書きましたがＡＯＬがハッキングされてしまいました。いま有楽町で飲んでいま～す！」と。

本来なら最初に電話すべきでしたね。(汗)

本人のメールアドレスであることが確認できて、そこから返事がしっかり来るということへの危険性を再認識したのでした。お手柄の娘にはお礼のお小遣いが渡ったのです。

ということで、私の連休中の一番のドキドキ話でした。

メールはその後、何も返事がきていないです。
