Don't underestimate the power of teamwork

2019 has been a year to hire more people, improve systems, enlarge offices, and improve product features, etc., spent resources and money for mostly internal issues. 2020 is a year to harvest the results.

Then how can we be successful in doing so?

I watched several programs of NHK Special while the new year holidays. One of them that impressed mw was Honda's re-challenge to F1 racing. Here is a point that remained in my mind.

In 2015, Honda re-started its challenge to F1 by partnering with Maclaren. Two years was spent with Maclaren without any major success. Honda re-partnered with Red Bull and on its second year, they finally won 3 races out of 21 last year. Four years spent with two partners to gain the result.

What impressed me were, first, Maclaren and Honda people respected each other, but they hadn't been having lunch together whereas, Red Bull and Honda people mingled well together. Second, upon an issue dealing with a long shaft high rpm vibration issue, Honda engine leader asked for some advices from Honda's jet engine engineer and got to a solution.

Those indicate one thing. "Don't underestimate the power of teamwork."
If you can borrow some power from a person next to you, you can achieve your goals easier, using teamwork. And, I need to admit that our teamwork at e-Jan is not to where I wish it to be.

People tend to want to do things by themselves. They tend to think, it they were to do things by themselves, it would be faster and better. Thus, they tend to fail in trusting others that leads to the failure in achieving things using teamwork.

What pulls out successful teamwork is your capability of allowance to others. It is not looking down to what others can't do, but to have capacity of admitting others' capabilities that you don't have. You'd know those capabilities by regular chatting, not from their job resumes.

I would like to set our challenge in 2020 as "Overcome organizational barriers to achieve e-Jan teamwork!"

===========

Don't underestimate the power of teamwork.
