Why I invited Indian members to Tokyo

»

Last week, we had three members from CACHATTO India Private Limited, CIPL, visiting our office in Tokyo. One of them had been with us for 13 years, so he knew who we were. However, two of them had never left India before, as a matter of fact, it was their first visit to Japan. Last August when I attended the exhibition in Mumbai, seeing the CIPL members working hard to describe what CACHATTO was, I made up my mind to invite them to Japan and let them see and understand what we do here at the headquarters.

The week CIPL members came was the week of CACHATTO users' conference in Tokyo. We hold users' conferences every year. We invite customers, present them some real use cases and our road map, then have a reception party together with the customers. I wanted the CIPL members to see and feel we were a solid and successful company holding such an event with real customers every year. By doing so, I was very sure that they would become confident in what they market in India.

Through my own experience, I learned that this kind of positive image stays in my mind and eventually becomes real. I myself, have attended some similar events in the past, and thought "One day, we'll become like that." That thought has stayed in my mind and I think it helped me justify having this kind of event. Something that stays in your mind will eventually become real. I hoped what we showed CIPL members last week would stay in their minds and become their own reality.

Not only attending the event, but also visiting our office to interact with employees in Tokyo seemed to have been very beneficial to them. Beneficial in terms of information and education for sure, but more than that, I guess they obtained the confidence that their activities in India would be supported by the members whom they met in Tokyo; everyone working hard to make the product better. The aim of creating confidence justified the expenditure of their accommodations and time to travel. We will keep on doing this, and I'm sure that it will create a better future working relationship that will affect our future positively.
