【改善投票】絶賛実施中なう。WindowsAzureにもの申したい方はLet's投票
「Azureもいいんだけどもうちょっとこうなったらなあ…」というご意見を
多数いただいておりますが、Azure開発チームに直接訴求する機会が
提供されているので早速ご案内。
投票という形で、世界中から改善提案を受付中なのである。
現時点におけるTOP20は下記。
英語のままで恐縮だが、「そーだそーだ！」と頷けるものもあるだろう。
1. Make it less expensive to run my very small service on Windows Azure.
2. Continue Azure offering free for Developers
3. Provide the ability to send Emails right from Azure
4. Provide a way to schedule worker roles so they only run when needed
5. Create a "beta" environment for .NET 4.0 tests and evaluation.
6. Provide multiple roles per instance
7. Provide DNS Services for my domains and sub-domains
8. Streaming would be great with IIS Smooth Streaming
9. Offer me a Windows Azure dedicated cloud, either hosted on my premises or with third-party provider.
10. Provide me with full text search on table storage
11. Improve the experience of deploying my application to Windows Azure.
12. Support secondary Indexes
13. Dynamic IIS Compression Support
14. Pay per minute instead of pay par hour
15. Make it easier for me to scale up or down my Windows Azure hosted service.
16. Make it free for single developers trying to learn in live environment
17. Create Elastic IPs so we can actually create web addressable apps with full DNS, not *.cloudapp.net
18. Add MapReduce equivalent (low cost intensive parallelized CPU)
19. Allow me to run my Windows Azure application in compliance with standards such as PCI, HIPAA, etc.
20. Make it easier for people less familiar with Windows Azure to come up-to-speed quickly.
中には、12番のAzureTableにおけるセカンダリインデックスなど、
すでに対応表明しているものもある。おそらくマイクロソフトさんとしては
次にどこかでAzureの新機能群を発表する際に「開発者の皆さんからの
フィードバックに基づきその多くを対応してきた」というコメントをするように
準備を整えてゆくことになると思うので、確約は出来ないがこのリストで
上位にきていれば何らかAzureチームでアクションがとられるはずである。
Silverlight4でも同様な取り組みが行われ、かなりの改善が行われている。
（もちろん、必ずしも対応をお約束できるものではないので念のため）
もちろん、新規に項目を追加していただいてもかまわない。
とにかく、アクセスした際に与えられる10票に、夢や希望や思いを込めて
日本からもどんどん投票していただきたい。
中の人である私が言うのもなんだが、出し手本意の開発プランから、
コミュニティの意見を取り入れる方向に変わりつつあるのは歓迎すべき
ことだと思う。もちろん投票で開発方針のすべてが決まるわけではないが、
Windows Azureの将来は開発者のみなさまにゆだねられたのである。
