Do you believe in coincidences?

»

Since I wanted to drive better on circuits, I needed more practice, so I bought myself a 12-year-old second hand roadster that was equipped with bucket seats, racing seatbelts, and a roll cage. For some extra maintenance, I went to a car workshop to have my roadster's transmission oil changed and the steering wheel replaced last Saturday.

While I was waiting at the workshop office, I happened to meet a Singaporean couple. They came to have lunch with the repair shop president's parents whom they consider their Japanese father and mother in Tokyo. They were so pleased to be able to communicate with me in English (with a bit of Singlish, lol), and we ended up conversing a lot.

We started to introduce ourselves; I introduced myself as someone running an IT company, and I found out that the guy had been working in Japan for 16 years, taking care of the IT security for "A" Securities. I introduced CACHATTO and then he showed me MobileIron which they were using with corporate iPhones, and he told me about the issues they were having. No, "A" Securities, for some reason, hadn't adopted CACHATTO yet, and our sales people did not have any strong contacts.

As we talked more, the guy mentioned that they had been looking for a good PC solution with a strong DLP (Data Leak Prevention) feature. So, I told him CACHATTO Desktop could be the right solution. I also told him that I had met an Indian "A" Securities person at the EXPO in India last month, mentioned his name, and found that he was one of his global co-workers, so we knew the same person! We exchanged our contacts and they left for lunch.

The girl mentioned that she believed there was no such thing as a coincidence. I really agreed with her since none of this could have happened if I had not pursued driving nor global business activities. No one knows how the future unfolds, but it seems that the connections I've been making, thanks to my new activities, are leading me to some potentially great opportunities. Let's see how business goes with "A" Securities!
