Work becomes Fun if you simply choose to LIKE your Colleagues

»

Have you ever thought that the existence of colleagues makes work fun? Having colleagues are one of the enjoyable aspects of work.

During very busy periods, everyone must have thought at some point "I wish I could multiply myself." It would be much faster and more efficient if you did the work yourself than teaching others how to do it. However, since you can't replicate yourself, your output is physically limited. If you wish to accomplish something larger than what you can do yourself, you'd need to take a team approach.

The fact that there are good and bad team players indicates teamwork is an acquired skill, not an innate skill. On the other hand, team leaders also need to learn the skills to make their team perform better; the power of three can become the output of five to ten. We could use some difficult analogies from organizational behavior to achieve this, but here is an easier mentality: "LIKE your colleagues."

Your colleagues have good and strong points but they also have bad and weak points. ACCEPT them all! If you feel anger by seeing others' bad or weak points, then it would only produce toxic chemicals in your body resulting in only harming yourself. Simply, DEFINE the work being fun because your colleagues are fun. Since they are your colleagues, find out what their skills are, respect them, and LIKE them.

By having this kind of mentality, interesting things can occur. Since fun things are attractive to people, and people wish to contribute to something fun, the team you are in can become energetic and cheerful if you can consider it fun. Working together is not that simple, and the team might face some tough issues every once in a while. However, the tougher the issue is, the bigger the sense of accomplishment the team would gain when the issue was solved. It would compensate for the grinding difficulties the team had gone through.

So, if you are in a team leader position of any kind, what you must do is set the mentality to enjoy the work itself. To do so, make sure that each person enjoys working with the others. If you are a team member, you should just LIKE the others. It is because work becomes fun if you simply LIKE your colleagues.
